The Institute of Regulation is a membership organisation consisting of a professional network to provide professional development and the promotion of good practice in regulation.
To support communication and engagement with both existing and prospective members, the Institute launched their own podcast. As part of efforts to expand and enhance its quality, they sought expert advice and partnered with Bowerman Audiovisual to elevate production standards.
To design and implement the production of a monthly podcast exploring possible methods and costs to enable the recording 3-4 persons.
After considering the cost implications of bringing nationally and internationally based podcast guests to a central recording location, it was decided that the remote recording method suggested by Bowerman Audiovisual would maximise both cost and time efficiencies.
The key challenge, therefore, was to ensure consistently high-quality audio from guests recording in their own locations, while also establishing a smooth, reliable process for conducting each session and capturing the audio.
Bowerman Audiovisual designed and implemented a remote podcasting system offering a balance of high-quality audio and user-friendly operation.

Seamless Remote Collaboration
Zencastr.com a specialised online recording platform was used, enabling guests to join video calls and have a face to face discussion. The software captured the audio directly to the user’s device in full quality WAV files, negating potential issues from internet connectivity.
Cloud-Based Audio Management
Once recorded, files were automatically uploaded to the cloud, ensuring secure and efficient retrieval for post-production.
Professional Editing & Mastering
Bowerman’s in-house team handled all aspects of editing and mastering, ensuring a polished and professional final product.
End to end support
PDF instructional guides were created to support participants in setting up their recording equipment and joining the podcast sessions. For each recording, Bowerman Audiovisual provided onboarding for guests, ensuring that microphones and software were correctly configured and connected. Potential issues such as device security restrictions and software conflicts were identified and resolved ahead of recording to ensure a smooth and efficient session.
The Institute for Regulation’s podcast continues to grow its audience, delivering an engaging and professionally produced product with ongoing support from Bowerman Audiovisual.
